What is Crypto.com?

Crypto.com is more than just a crypto exchange, it’s kind of an all-in-one hub for anything crypto-related. You can access it from your desktop if you want to trade on the exchange, but to really get the full experience, the mobile app is where it’s at. It works on both iOS and Android, and it’s honestly packed with features. Think stakinglending, NFTs, a Visa debit card with cashback perks, and more. If you’re just getting into crypto or want a platform that offers more than just buying and selling, Crypto.com is worth a look.

My Overall Thoughts on Crypto.com

Crypto.com does a solid job blending a clean, beginner-friendly app with some powerful features for more experienced users. Beyond just trading crypto, the platform gives you ways to earn passive income through staking, spend your crypto with a slick metal Visa card, and even dip into the world of NFTs.

Three standout features for me:

1) Huge coin selection: Over 250 cryptocurrencies are supported, including most of the big names like BTC, ETH, ADA, XRP, and DOGE, along with their native coin, CRO. You can trade, hold, or stake CRO for added perks like fee discounts and cashback.

2) Metal Visa debit card: Not only does it look premium, but depending on how much CRO you stake, you can get up to 5% cashback, free Netflix and Spotify, Airbnb and Expedia rebates, and even airport lounge access.

3) Crypto.com Earn: This lets you earn interest on your crypto while you HODL. You can stake over 40 coins, and depending on your CRO stake, the yields can be surprisingly decent. Interest gets paid weekly in the same coin.

One small downside: the desktop version doesn’t have the full functionality of the mobile app. You can’t buy crypto directly with fiat on the desktop—you’ll need the app for that. That said, it’s a minor hassle for most people who already live on their phones. If you are planning to only use a desktop, you can research the best crypto exchanges with this article.

I like that they offer both a card and decent interest on my holdings. The app’s security features are tight too

I had funds stuck for 4 days with no proper update from support. They eventually fixed it but the delay was frustrating

Great range of coins and the Earn feature is simple to use. Just wish I found this platform earlier

Not bad overall, but some features are geo-locked which is frustrating. Works fine otherwise

Key Features & Advantages of Crypto.com

Crypto.com has a lot of fantastic features that set it apart from other cryptocurrency exchanges. These are my favorite:

Negatives and Disadvantages of Crypto.com

Crypto.com is a great platform, but there are a couple of downsides:

What Services does Crypto.com offer?

Desktop exchange with spot trading, margin trading and derivatives:  If you’re into more advanced trading, Crypto.com has a pretty powerful desktop exchange. The layout is what you’d expect from a serious trading platform—real-time charts, limit/market orders, margin trading up to 10x, and derivatives like BTC perpetuals with leverage up to 50x. It’s a solid setup if you know what you’re doing.

That said, one annoying limitation is that you can only trade crypto pairs involving USDT, USDC, BTC, or CRO. No fiat pairs, which is kind of a bummer if you’re used to exchanges like Binance or Kraken that let you trade directly with USD or EUR.

Mobile app for iOS and Android:  The mobile app is where Crypto.com really shines. You can buy crypto with fiat, swap between coins, access staking (Crypto Earn), request your Visa card, and even explore NFTs—all from your phone. It’s packed but still manages to be intuitive.

Also, the app lets you set price alerts, track the market, and even automate purchases with recurring buy options. If you’re someone who mostly manages their crypto from their phone, the app experience here is genuinely one of the best.

Over 250+ different cryptocurrencies available:  Crypto.com supports over 250 cryptocurrencies, which covers pretty much all the major coins and a good number of altcoins too. Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, Cardano, Polkadot, Dogecoin, and of course CRO are all here.

They’re also pretty quick to list trending coins or new tokens, so if you’re the kind of person who likes to jump on the latest thing, you’ll probably find it on Crypto.com.

Live Chat support available:  Live chat support is available directly through the app and website. Sometimes it starts as a chatbot and switches to email, especially during peak times. But overall, I’ve found them responsive—I usually got an email back within the hour, and follow-up messages were even quicker.

Honestly, having real-time support (even if a little delayed sometimes) is a nice change from the usual ticket-and-wait approach a lot of exchanges still use.

CRO coin – stake Crypto.com’s own coin for extra benefits:  CRO is Crypto.com’s native coin, and staking it unlocks a bunch of rewards. On the desktop exchange, staking CRO gets you 10% APR and rebates on trading fees. On the app, staking CRO gives you access to better card tiers (and perks), improved interest rates in Crypto Earn, and even cheaper loans in Crypto Credit.

The more CRO you stake, the more benefits you unlock. But the tiers are steep—if you want the full 5% cashback on the card, you’re looking at staking $40,000 worth of CRO.

Crypto Earn – stake over 40+ coins to earn interest:  This is basically a way to earn passive income by staking your crypto. You can stake coins like BTC, ETH, USDC, and 40+ others. Terms can be flexible, 1-month, or 3-month, with higher interest rates for longer lockups.

Your CRO stake also affects how much you earn—bigger CRO stake = better rates. It’s a cool way to make your crypto work for you while you hold it.

Visa debit card – receive up to 5% cashback and other benefits:  Probably the flashiest feature: the Crypto.com Visa card. It’s a metal card, and it offers up to 5% cashback on purchases, depending on how much CRO you stake.

On top of that, some tiers include free Netflix/Spotify, Expedia/Airbnb rebates, airport lounge access, and bonus interest on staked coins. Just keep in mind that staking requirements are pretty high for the top benefits.

Crypto Credit – get an instant crypto loan with no deadlines:  If you need quick liquidity, Crypto Credit lets you borrow up to 50% of your crypto’s value without selling it. No credit check, no deadlines—you just repay when you’re ready.

The rates are lower if you have a decent amount of CRO staked. It’s pretty handy if you’re temporarily cash-strapped but don’t want to offload your crypto.

Crypto.com Pay – pay with crypto and earn rewards:  This lets you spend your crypto at online merchants, on gift cards, or even to top up prepaid phones. You can use over 30 tokens including BTC, ETH, and CRO.

You get rewards too: up to 10% cashback on gift cards, 5% on phone top-ups, and even some perks for paying friends in crypto.

NFT Marketplace – buy and sell NFTs:  Crypto.com also has an NFT marketplace that you can access from the app. It’s pretty user-friendly, and while it doesn’t have the variety of something like OpenSea, it’s a good entry point if you’re new to NFTs.

You can buy, sell, and even mint your own NFTs. All within the same ecosystem.

Insurance for your cryptocurrencies:  One of the more underrated perks: Crypto.com has a hefty $750 million insurance policy, which includes direct coverage and custodial coverage via Ledger Vault. That gives some peace of mind if you’re storing significant funds on the platform.

It covers physical damage and third-party theft, which not all exchanges can claim.

What I Don’t Like About Crypto.com

Desktop website is limited to trading with only USDT, USDC, BTC & CRO:  The biggest gripe I have is that the desktop version is pretty stripped down compared to the app. You can’t use fiat, and you’re limited to a few trading pairs. I prefer doing bigger trades on my computer, so this is a bit of a letdown.

Visa card currency conversion fees:  If your fiat currency isn’t directly supported by the Visa card, you’ll get hit with conversion fees. Depending on the amount of cashback you’re earning, this could eat into your rewards.

It is FREE to withdraw fiat currency via bank transfer. The only exception is withdrawing USDC via SWIFT Network, which incurs a $25 USD fee.

For cryptocurrency withdrawals, there is a flat fee incurred, depending on the coin. There are too many coins to list, but I have included some popular cryptocurrencies and their fees in the table below.

Note that transferring crypto to another Crypto.com app user is FREE.

The Verdict

Crypto.com isn’t perfect, but it’s one of the more complete crypto ecosystems out there. You get buying, selling, earning, borrowing, spending, and even NFT capabilities—all under one roof. The mobile app is the real star, and the Visa card gives the platform a cool real-world tie-in that most exchanges lack.

If you’re someone who wants to do more than just trade, Crypto.com is absolutely worth checking out. Just be ready to dive into the mobile app if you want the full experience.
