What is MEXC?

MEXC is a crypto exchange that has been getting a lot of attention lately, mainly because it offers zero-fee spot and futures trading for makers. If you're tired of paying trading fees every time you make a move, this is a big deal. The platform launched in 2018 and has grown into one of the most diverse exchanges out there, with access to over 2,960 different cryptocurrencies.

MEXC used to be a No KYC exchange but in 2024 they made it mandatory. However, MEXC is available in most countries, including places with strict regulations like Australia. Even users in the U.S. and Canada can access MEXC by verifying their accounts with a Palau ID. Overall, it’s a great crypto trading platform with tons of features and zero trading fees.

My Overall Thoughts on MEXC

After spending time on MEXC, I can say it’s a solid exchange with some impressive perks. Here are the top three things I really like about it:

1) ZERO FEE trading:  Let’s be honest—trading fees can add up quickly, especially if you’re making frequent trades. MEXC completely removes fees for makers on all spot and futures trading pairs. For takers, the fees are also among the lowest in the industry, with 0.05% for spot and just 0.02% for futures. You can also reduce your fees by 50% if you hold at least 500 MX tokens.

2) Huge selection of cryptocurrencies:  If you like having options, you’ll love MEXC. It supports over 2,960 cryptocurrencies and 2,700+ trading pairs. Whether you’re trading Bitcoin, Ethereum, or looking for the next big altcoin, you’ll probably find it here.

3) Plenty of trading markets:  MEXC isn’t just about simple buying and selling. You can trade on spot markets, try margin trading, dive into futures, or even trade ETFs. If you’re into high-risk, high-reward strategies, MEXC also offers leverage up to 200x—much higher than what most exchanges allow.

That said, there’s one minor drawback: no fiat withdrawals. If you want to cash out to traditional currency, you’ll have to transfer your crypto to another exchange that supports fiat withdrawals. Not the end of the world, but something to be aware of. You can see my step-by-step guide here for more information on how to withdraw your money from MEXC.

Key Features & Advantages of MEXC

MEXC has a lot to offer, making it one of the most well-rounded exchanges out there. Here’s a quick breakdown of its best features:

Negatives & Disadvantages of MEXC

Even though MEXC has a lot going for it, there are a couple of downsides you should be aware of:

What Services Does MEXC Offer?

If you're considering MEXC as your crypto exchange, let's break down what it has to offer so you can decide if it's the right fit for you.

Quick crypto purchases:  New to crypto? No problem. MEXC makes it super easy to buy cryptocurrencies using various payment methods. Just head to the 'Buy Crypto' section, pick your fiat currency, and choose the crypto you want. It's a simple and fast way to get started.

Over 2,960+ cryptocurrencies available:  One of MEXC’s standout features is its huge selection of cryptocurrencies—over 2,960 coins and more than 2,700 trading pairs. I was honestly overwhelmed by the sheer number of options, including a bunch of coins I'd never even heard of. I spent hours researching and even found some promising hidden gems. If there's a specific coin you're after, MEXC probably has it.

Apps available for Android, iOS, and Windows users:  Having a mobile app makes managing your crypto so much more convenient, and MEXC delivers with apps for Android, iOS, and Windows. I tested the app on both an iPhone and a Samsung Galaxy, and it ran smoothly on both. The interface is user-friendly, making trading on the go super easy.

Copy Trading so you can copy the most successful investors:  If you're not confident in your own trading skills yet, MEXC has a Copy Trading feature. This lets you automatically replicate the trades of experienced traders. You can filter top investors by Return on Investment (ROI), profit and loss, win rate, equity, and followers. I found it really easy to browse through successful traders and even followed one recommended to me by a colleague.

Several trading markets available:  MEXC isn’t just about offering a massive range of cryptocurrencies—it also provides different trading markets to suit all kinds of traders. Whether you’re into spot trading, margin trading, or derivatives trading (including ETF indices, ETF margin trading, and futures trading), MEXC has you covered.

Everything is easily accessible in one place, making it simple to switch between different trading types. Plus, with so many trading pairs available, there’s always a good opportunity to jump on. Whether you’re a day trader or just dabbling, MEXC gives you plenty of options to explore.

Trade with up to 200x leverage:  For experienced traders looking to maximize their gains, MEXC offers leverage trading with up to 200x leverage on some cryptocurrencies. While this can amplify your profits, it's also extremely risky. Even a small market shift in the wrong direction can wipe you out, so only jump into this if you really know what you're doing.

Super-fast and accurate charts:  If you're serious about trading, you need fast and accurate charts. MEXC’s charts load instantly and offer a ton of customization options, from different technical indicators to various time frames. I found them to be super responsive, which is crucial when making split-second trading decisions.

Staking available for several cryptocurrencies:  Who doesn’t love earning passive income? MEXC offers staking on various cryptocurrencies, including BTC, ETH, and DOT. You can choose between flexible staking or locking your assets for a set period. When I compared the staking rewards with other platforms, I found them to be quite competitive, and I personally use MEXC to stake some of my crypto.

Range of deposit methods:  MEXC works with third-party providers to support various fiat deposit options. You can use Visa, Mastercard, Bank Transfer, Apple Pay, and Google Pay. I personally love the convenience of using Apple Pay to buy USDT—just a couple of taps and you’re done, no need to enter card details manually.

If you prefer peer-to-peer (P2P) trading, MEXC has a dedicated platform for that too. You can either fulfill an existing order or create your own, giving you flexibility in how you buy and sell crypto.

Premium help center with multilingual support:  Good customer support can make or break an exchange. MEXC has a Help Center with FAQs, live chat, and a support ticket system if you need further assistance. Plus, they offer multilingual support, so you can get help in your preferred language.

Easy-to-use platform with hassle-free registration:  MEXC’s interface is clean and simple. I had no issues navigating the platform—everything from depositing funds to trading and staking was straightforward. Opening an account is a breeze too. Just sign up with your email, verify it, and you're good to go.

Extra earnings and prizes:  Beyond staking, MEXC offers other earning opportunities. Their MX-DeFi hub lets you join liquidity pools for rewards, and they have frequent airdrops through M-Day events. They also run trading competitions and prize giveaways regularly, so it’s worth checking their promotions page to see what’s available. Visit MEXC to see what current promotions are available.

What I Don't Like About MEXC

MEXC is a great crypto exchange but there are a few points that might not suit some users. Here are a couple of downsides that you should keep in mind before proceeding.

Very limited cryptocurrencies available for quick buy:  If you are in a rush and don't have time to place an order on the markets, the quick buy option is a blessing. However, on MEXC, there is a limited range of coins that you can purchase directly depending on your geographical region.

If you want to buy a coin that is not available on quick buy, you have to first buy an available cryptocurrency (such as USDT), then trade it for the coin you want.

No fiat withdrawals available:  As MEXC is a dedicated crypto trading platform, users are not able to withdraw fiat currencies from the exchange. If you wish to do so, you will have to transfer your crypto to another exchange that accepts fiat withdrawals. You can see my simple guide here.

MEXC Fees

MEXC is one of the cheapest exchanges out there when it comes to fees. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Deposit Fees: Free for crypto deposits. Fiat deposits via third-party providers usually have a 3-5% fee.
  • Trading Fees: Makers for spot and futures trading is 100% free. For takers, the fee is 0.05% for spot trading ad 0.02% for futures trading. You can also get a 50% discount on your trading fees if you hold at least 500 MX tokens.
  • Fiat Withdrawal Fees: Not available—users must transfer crypto to another exchange to cash out. See my guide here
  • Crypto Withdrawal Fees: Fees vary depending on the cryptocurrency, with some being free and others having a small charge.

Pros and Cons of MEXC

Pros
  • Over 2,960+ cryptocurrencies available
  • ZERO fees for makers; 0.05% for spot takers and 0.02% for futures takers
  • Staking options for passive income
  • High leverage trading up to 200x
  • Accessible in many countries including the US and Canada (using Palau ID)
Cons
  • Cannot withdraw fiat currency from MEXC
  • Limited number of cryptocurrencies available for quick buy

The Verdict

MEXC is an excellent option for anyone looking for a low-cost, feature-rich crypto exchange. The lack of trading fees, massive selection of cryptocurrencies, and flexible trading options make it a standout choice. The fact that you can access it in almost every country (since MEXC accepts Palau ID KYC) makes it an attractive choice for those with limited crypto options in the US.

The biggest downside is that you can’t withdraw fiat directly, but if you’re okay with using another exchange for cashing out, this isn’t a major issue. Overall, if you’re looking for an exchange with low costs and high functionality, MEXC is definitely worth considering.
